Transfer scholarships are available to students who submit their transfer admission application to WVU by July 1.. Beginning with the fall 2015, transfer scholarships range in value from $1,000 per year up to $2,000 per year for West Virginia resident students, and from $2,500 per year to $5,000 per year for non-resident students. Students entering WVU as transfer students prior to the fall 2015 may have received different award amounts than the current listings. Unfortunately these new amounts are not retroactive to previous classes. Students who have at least a 3.0 transfer GPA and a minimum of 15 transferable hours/maximum of 78 transferable hours to WVU are eligible for consideration. Students in excess of 78 transfer credits at the time of admission to WVU are not eligible for consideration. Transfer scholarships are awarded for two years (four semesters), and require a GPA of at least 3.0 and 30 earned hours in order to renew for the second year. No separate application is required. Scholarship award letters are usually sent out beginning in early spring of each year. For students transferring to WVU during a spring semester, the same gpa and hours requirements exist, but the deadline to submit the application for admission is November 15.
